water water everywhere

mrtomtom had water up to the door of his Rav4 as he tried to get to my parents house. (He did in fact, make it). Gettin home from the airport was a feat. I still can't believe how much standing water there was INSIDE O'Hare airport. *shakes head* and on the taxiways. crazy.
We have a lake in our backyard that is creeping up the backsteps and has already flowed into the basement.
And the best news - the remnants/backlash of Ike are supposed to hit today.
So, yeah, I'm hoping I can fly back to Boston tonight. *crosses fingers*
At least O'Hare is open today and not at a ground halt.
Now time for post-wedding brunch. :)
