Happy Birthday to [livejournal.com profile] spiritedrinoa, [livejournal.com profile] ignatiusvienna & [livejournal.com profile] tmesser! Enjoy the freebies and rock your birthdays! Hopefully the next year brings amazing things for each of you.

That being said, if you can vote - go out and do so. I don't care what side you're voting for, but exercise your constitutional right.

I think I like this bit that I received in a MoveOn.org email:

Live your values. Love your country. Vote.

So, the last presidential election, I voted in L.A. Because I moved right before the election, [livejournal.com profile] bad_influence and I had to cast provisional ballots, there were long lines, and lots of craziness.

This year - a lovely five minute stroll to the polling place, no lines, simple in & out voting. I think it took longer to walk there than to check in, vote, check out. (And six local races where Democrats were running unopposed). Maybe there's something to be said for dividing tiny somerville into fifteen precincts for voting.

So, yes, I voted! Did you?
