things that go boom!
Friday, 2 May 2008 11:19So, I decided to go pick up my new contact lens after class. Go down there to find the news crews, and the whole square block taped off with police tape. At first I thought it was some Harvard stunt/thing but now. I go to check my email and find this:
An NSTAR manhole explosion at Dunster Street near Holyoke Center occurred early this morning, Friday, May 2, as a result of a fire in the sewer system. Traffic will be severely limited in Harvard Square throughout the day. There will be no disruption to class schedules at Harvard University, but Holyoke Center will be closed for the remainder of the day. That means that University Health Services at Holyoke Center (UHS) will be closed.
Guess that explains the helicopter I saw hovering at 8:30 this morning on my way to class.
