It shouldn't surprise me, but it does. It's one thing for to hold such a belief personally, to believe something is a sin, but to publicly denounce it as evil - That's a big word. I don't care if you're the 2nd highest ranking official in the Vatican, you don't get to decide what is evil. You're not God. "Let he who is without sin cast the first stone."
