Books 20-21 of 50
20. Title:Patternmaster
Author: Octavia Butler
Pages: 202
Date Finished: 24.IV.2008
Thoughts: This was the first Octavia Butler book I've read. Jess has a bunch of them and everyone's raved about her, so I figured I'd give it a shot. I thoroughly enjoyed her. She has an excellent way with words and her narration style just flows well. It's the first sci-fi book I've read in awhile and took me back to my Asimov days. The idea of a telepathically linked society is interesting too - especially the stuff you could do with that.
21. Title:Torchwood: Slow Decay
Author: Andy Lane
Pages: 250
Date Finished: 27.IV.2008
Thoughts: I picked this up as one of a few Torchwood novels for cheap, fun reading. The characterizations are down pat and it's one of those fun reads you can lose yourself in. Interesting plot, but not enough Ianto for my taste. Though it's one of those fun things to read for additional crack if you're a Torchwood fan. If not, it probably wouldn't interest you at all.
